Order and pay by June 15 to avoid missing out on a copy of the keepsake cemetery history book

Over the last year we’ve been slowly working on putting together a little keepsake book to document the history of the Antonio López Cemetery (aka, San José Cemetery), from its creation in 1903 through to the recent beautification project and installation of the historical marker.

The book is nearly ready for printing. Its roughly 100 pages include:

  • Early López family history
  • The cemetery’s historical and cultural significance
  • Photos of the cemetery and its first settlers
  • An inventory and map of known burials

Orders and pre-payment of $15 per copy must be received by June 15.

For details on where to send payment by June 15:

Note that we’re requesting payment up front so: 1) we can pay for the printing; and 2) we can order just enough copies to satisfy paid orders, to avoid depleting cemetery funds paying for unwanted copies. Depending on final printing costs, $1–$5 out of every order will actually go into the cemetery fund to help cover ongoing maintenance of the fenceline and any needed repairs that crop up. No costs were incurred to write or design the book—those efforts were donated.

Pick up: The pre-paid books will be available for pick up in San José at the dedication ceremony for the historical marker, which is in planning stages for later this year once it cools down a bit—more details to come. If you’ll need other arrangements, please let us know when you send in your order and payment. If you need your copy mailed, there’ll be an extra charge to cover postage.

Please help spread the word to others who may be interested so they don’t miss their chance at a copy. Thanks for your help!

It seems that you have to order through Facebook. I do not belong to Facebook nor care to belong either. Any other way to order the book?

    Sonia Barrera,
You, Eladio Barrera and Rosi Barrera and all others involved have done such an amazing job of researching and compiling historical information regarding the history of the Antonio Lopez Family Cemetery in San Jose, Texas. It is a special tribute to all who rest there and their families who remain, for the rest of time. A large part of my heart rests there with those I love. I have not received the copy of my book yet, but just keeping up with things on FB and now the presentation of this book, the beauty of your hard work is clearly evident. I am so proud of you all. Thank you for this.
