Our marker has been cast!

It’s hard to believe it’s been over three years since we first got the ball rolling on an historical marker for our family cemetery, but we’ve finally gotten word that it’s done: our official marker is cast and ready for shipment! The Texas Historical Commission graciously sent this photo of our finished marker at the foundry. Won’t be much longer now until it comes home to San José and preparations can be made to have it installed.

The current plan is to get the marker in the ground as soon as possible—a point of pride for all the family to enjoy. Hopefully, the new year will bring in better circumstances for the official dedication and celebration. Stay tuned for photos once the marker is installed. Be well, everybody!
